There are many routes for motorcyclists, one of which is the state road 125also known as the “orientale sarda” (the Sardinian oriental road). It goes from the centre of Dorgali to Baunei passing through Passo Silana, at a very short distance from the famous Gola di Gorropu.

Falling in love with the landscape and with the lay of the land full of hills and mountains and with limited traffic is inevitable for motorcyclists. In most cases motorcyclists that drive on the orientale sarda will find a well kept road surface, much superior to many other more advertised destinations.

 

The journey to Gorropu has both flat country with open and perfectly visible curves and panoramic uphill roads with a view of the Gennargentu range with shady woods that flank hair-pin turns with views on the splendid sea of the Gulf of Orosei.
